Center Right

I would have never imagined that President Obama would have lost his glow so soon. If this had happened to Bill Clinton in either of his terms I could have understood. In Clintons first term some might say without Ross Peirot he would not have been elected the first black president as he was dubbed. His second term was tainted by Monica, but still he had the courage to lead and govern effectively, although at times he had to admit to some horrible errors. Clinton’s strength to admit error and then correct the course is perhaps what is missing from the character of Obama. There is a huge natural gas deposit that has been found in Pennsylvania and everyone knows here in our area we have oil and gas money literally coming out of the ground, yet this president is still beating the hollow drum of government sponsored green jobs.

The advise the president should heed in light of gas prices, high unemployment and slow growth is to admit that it is time to drill baby drill, stand up to the far left and do what has always been right for this country…and that is to allow capitalist to capitalize and let the free market flow, it helps everyone small and great. Some are saying they miss George…I think some of us even though conservative are saying we miss Bill. Now it is time for this columnist to make another prediction. Keep in mind that it was I who months ago predicted right here in S/B magazine that it would be Gov. Rick Perry who would be the savior of the republican party, while most of the talking heads were gaga over Mr. Donald Trump who I said at the time and still do believe is far to dictatorial to be a president. I predicted that Huckabee would not run and that Mitt Romney fair or not would struggle with the evangelical vote. Palin I said was having far too much fun being a rock star but is very unpredictable and… still is . These political tea leaves are just beginning to brew, so it is not yet possible to get a clear picture as I did with Rick Perry, but here is my prediction.

If the downward spiral continues for the president the way it has in past months. The far left will be forced to abandon him. It will not be painful for him because at the end of the day he will leave office a very wealthy man with a memoir book deal signed and delivered. Democrats will still need someone to deliver the so called progressive package. That someone can’t just be any ole’ somebody, absolutely not! The presidents replacement has to be justifiable to the masses and palatable to those who will cry racism, although I don’t believe that cry will ever be muffled. The replacement for the president must be someone who will be able to produce a battle royal against a proven bare knuckles politician like Rick Perry…you saw the debates a month ago the Governor simply shadow boxed and scored knockouts. I predict that President Barack Obama will do as the creator of the ‘Great Society’ did over 40 years ago, President Lyndon Baines Johnson refused the nomination of his party in the midst of growing domestic displeasure with Vietnam.

Bill Clinton was quoted as saying about then candidate Obama that “ This whole thing is a fairytale” to which many in his party thought he was out of line. I guess it does not matter if you like Bill or not it is undeniable he is one of, if not the most gifted political figure we will see in our life time. The idea of the Obama candidacy at the time did have all the makings of a frog to prince storyline. On the night of the election 2008 before the stroke of midnight CST it did appear that Camelot may be re-occurring, as this young man of color who to our knowledge had never managed a lemonade stand or any other business and who has many of his records sealed, stepped between the Greco-Roman pillars with his beautiful family, to be recognized as the next President of the United States, leader of the free world. We saw people like Jessie Jackson, Alec Baldwin, Oprah, Caroline Kennedy all overcome with emotion because finally the left had delivered in theory the golden child. It is amazing that here we are not three years later and  the crowned prince is beginning to look a lot like that frog again and those who were once fans may no longer be followers.

Here is the prediction, in order to save any chance of keeping the White House and the Senate democrats must rely on what has worked in the past, inspiration. That is what they have always been good at Roosevelt, Kennedy, Obama, all inspiring in their persona but I predict this time the inspiration that will mobilize their faithful will be the chance to perhaps make even a larger splash in political history. I predict the democrats will nominate someone proven to be a Washington, D. C. street fighter and has perhaps what the current president really lacks…..a thick skin. I predict there are only two democrats capable of going toe to toe with Governor Rick Perry and they are both named Clinton. The first woman president will not be a Palin or Bachmann, it will be a woman who has already been in the oval office for eight years and is seeking a third term. The only woman who fits that description and can save the democrats is Hillary Rodham Clinton, there is still a place called hope…I just hope she doesn’t say “see I told ya so.”
