Stealth Jihad and The Prison Complex “Remembering 9/11”

By: Stacy Swimp

Anyone who is familiar with my story: “No Longer A Slave”, also knows of my long journey from liberalism to conservatism. It is well documented that a “leg” of that journey was spent in the U.S. Penal System. Until now, I have never publicly spoken of any specific experiences within the system, for I never wanted to be limited to or by the aforementioned.

However, in light of what I believe is a clear and present danger, the time has come for me to speak truth to power about “stealth jihad and the prison complex”.

I will never forget the details of September 11, 2001.  I was housed at a facility in Muskegon, MI. That morning, as the planes approached the World Trade Center (WTC), I was sleeping. Another resident of the housing unit rushed to my “bunk”, yelling for me to hurry and turn on my television. He kept saying, “We are being attacked!” This was approximately 8:50am, E.S.T.

I immediately sat up and turned on the television, wiping my eyes to clear the blur. I was, at once, overcome with shock as I watched the news. At 8:53am, E.S.T., a plane overtaken by terrorists crashed into the WTC Building. Minutes later, at 9:09am, E.S.T., the second plane hijacked by terrorists came crashing into the WTC.

Still in a daze from the disbelief of what I had just seen on the news, more horrors were reported. At  9:43am, E.S.T., another hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon. At 10:46am, E.S.T., A large plane, believed to be a 767, crashed north of Somerset County Airport, near Pittsburgh. At 11:19am, E.S.T., In Pennsylvania, a large plane believed to be a 747 crashed.

These incidents were, in the words of President George Bush, “Acts of War”, perpetuated by Islamic Jihadists who were inspired, according to a video released by Osama bin Laden three years later, by  the destruction of towers in Lebanon by Israel during the 1982 Lebanon War. In two other tapes aired by Al Jazeera in 2006, Osama Bin Laden took credit for the attacks.

While the President, U.S. Intelligence and the American people had a confirmed enemy in Osama Bin Laden and Al Quaeda, little did they know that there was another form of jihad taking place in the American prison system, where there was a different response to the series of attacks on the U.S. than what I had.

While I was in a daze, there was a celebration taking place around me, among those who were Muslim.  They were laughing loudly and uttering remarks such as “America should mind its own business!” Another said, “That will show them!”

All of the men were Black males, mostly from urban cities, who had been indoctrinated into anti U.S. Sentiment and open hostility towards what they called American imperialism. Theirs was a political ideology which fostered the belief that America needs to be punished. Islam would be the ideal tool to do so, according to them.

These men belonged to a variety of institutional sects. Some identified themselves  as  “Sunni” or Orthodox Muslims.  Others identified with the Nation of Islam, “5 Percenters”, or “Melanic Islamic Palace of the Rising Sun”. The “Melanics” are considered to be the most violent of all institutional sects or gangs.

Some also claimed identification with “The Moorish Science Temple of America”, a religious group which professes to follow both Christianity and Islam. The common foe for each of these was the “American Power Structure”. To some, they interpreted that as “White supremacy”. To all, Islam was the answer. A means of fighting for the same principles Osama Bin Laden espoused.

After no longer being able to silently watch this celebration, I stood and challenged it: “There were Americans in those buildings. American! Every one of us would be dead if we were in Iraq or Afghanistan and committed crimes against their people. You have a lot of nerve.” I was mocked and ridiculed as a “brainwashed”, among other names I dare not repeat here.

Over the next several years, my life would be threatened on more than a few occasions by Muslims who resented my contempt towards their manipulation and exploitation, in particular, of young Black males who entered the system and tended to succumb to the pressure of belonging to one of the named sects. Only by the grace of God did I make it out alive.

As the search for Osama Bin Laden intensified and dominated the news, the hostility I witnessed and experience on 9/11, became increasingly the norm among Muslims in the system, without proper designation by the Department of Corrections, who simply labeled these groups as gangs or “religions”. They are far more than that. They are feeding  ground for Stealth Jihad.

In October 2008, a report came out which concluded: “The prison, as the last bastion of racism and racial separatism, has become a prime recruitment center for radical Islam. Al Qaeda training manuals found by U.S. troops in Afghanistan reveal that America’s black prisoners, who constitute nearly half of the nation’s two million inmates, are viewed by terrorists as a potentially bountiful source of new Jihadi recruits.’

Islam expert Stephen Schwartz stated that “radical Muslim chaplains, acting in coordination to impose an extremist agenda, have gained a monopoly over Islamic religious activities in American state, federal, and city prisons and jails.” Over 135,000 inmates convert to Islam annually, and almost all of these converts are Black men.

In his book: “How Radical Islam is Subverting America Without Guns or Bombs”, Islam expert  Robert Spencer, reports

“A silent battle is being waged on our nation every day. Not with guns and bombs, but via covert sources: Islamic charities, the ACLU–even presidential candidates. They are all pawns in a stealth holy war. Unwittingly advancing the jihadist agenda not by violence, but through endeavors designed to acclimate and subject us to Islamic law.”

This article is not intended to stir up hateful emotions towards Black men in prison. This is only one of the numerous means Jihadists use in order to advance their movement here in America. This article is intended to, hopefully, educate Americans who are unaware of the real threat of stealth jihad, as it relates to the penal system.

It is important, as we remember 9/11, that we not become complacent in the war being waged against our Republic.  We must cultivate and develop new awareness and new critiques in our efforts to save our beloved country from the threat of stealth Jihad.

On this day, let us remember those famous words: “Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war’s desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land. Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!” God bless America!

Stacy, what a noble thing to do by opening up a dark part of your past so that others can see the light. Thank you for the education, remaining aware of things such as this is so vital to our Republic. It is an honor, Sir, that I call you MY FRIEND!!

  3. Great article, Stacy! I was wondring how you made it out of the prison system without being converted to the islamic faith. Just recently, the father of young black man who shot two members of the military who were standing outside a recruitment center in Little Rock, said at the trial that his son was recruited and brainwashed by muslims while in jail months before the shooting. Having grown up in Chicago, and then living in L.A. for a few years have seen first hand this process of black men coming out of jail either really buff or a Nation of Islam member, selling beans pies & NOI newspapers on the street corners, dressed in black suits with red bow ties.

  4. Interesting and unique point of view, brother swimp. Ihave spoken to other former christian inmates who shared similar comments. In Christ consciousness and under God, we are one, no matter the expressed religious belief system we choose to follow. Jesus, who was a Jew and did not start a religion, said,” …render to Ceasar that which is Ceasar’s, and to God that which is God’s..” There is no place where God is not except we think it so. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. Bless you, brother.

Excellent article. This problem is not being addressed in our Nation`s National Defense planning. It should be one spoke of the wheel as it is in reality.
