“I remember many of us cheered when Newt Gingrinch took on the media during one of his debates. Romney slaughtered his Republican and Independent opponents, which angered me. He threw stones at his opponents, unmercifully. and obliterated hem in front of millions of viewers.
Michigan was very divided between candidates. And when they fought back, he ducked, supported by the powers that be, even though there was plenty of criticism he deserved. I was among those who did not support Romney prior to the Primary, and really had a difficult time when he “won.” But the GOP pushed their golden boy on us, anyway.
Romney didn’t even overwhelmingly take Michigan—Santorum almost stopped him, until the GOP played sneaky tricks, changing rules in the middle of the night, further angering the electorate, especially angering true Conservatives. When the GOP handed the race to Romney, we knew it was just political theater.
Furthermore, neither the GOP nor Romney treated TEA Party groups with respect, and sometimes attacked them, as did the Left. Romney forever lost what could have been some strong support over it, because of the political games that were played.
That’s when many vowed to leave the GOP, write in the candidate of their choice, or not vote at all. It wasn’t just Romney’s fault, but the GOP’s as well. Still, they advanced and elevated Romney, and expected everyone they just smashed to fall in line.
Then, when it came time to fight the lying, fraudulent, tyrannical, treasonous enemy, incumbent, Barack Hussein Obama, and the complicit media, Romney shrunk back. He couldn’t defend his own miserable flip-flopping, weak record, and neither did he expose Obama, or the media.
Oh, he sort of got in a couple licks, and we waited for more to come, then nothing. He had plenty of opportunities to confront a horrible agenda, and real issues with the sitting usurper, and he could have fought Obama’s media supporters, but did not follow through. He tried to present himself as a man with experience, leadership, and strength, but failed, and failed miserably to deliver.
The GOP failed this country, as well, and we are reeling from it.”- Anne Phelps, Michigan
