The Boy Scouts of America voted this week to end their policy  banning youth who are openly practicing homosexual behavior.

Over 60 percent of The National Council of 1,400 delegates from Scouts across the country voted to lift the ban.

In his original book on boy scouting, Baden-Powell introduced “The Scout Promise“:

Before he becomes a scout, a boy must take the scout’s oath, thus:
On my honour I promise that—

I will do my duty to God and the King (his country)
I will do my best to help others, whatever it costs me.
I know the scout law, and will obey it.”

In the Word of God, Jesus said: “If you love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

It is clear, therefore, that in order to do one’s duty to God, one must keep His commandments and uphold his moral guidelines in the orientation of our lifestyle.

For the Boy Scouts to allow “openly homosexual” (which obviously means practicing homosexuality as a lifestyle) boys into the Scouts, they have violated their own Oath and have signaled to the Nation that they no longer embrace duty to God.

Thus, they have also signaled that they no longer embrace Duty to America, as this nation was founded upon Judeo-Christian values.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”– Proverbs 22:6

I don’t know what direction the Boy Scouts shall go now, after abandoning both God and Country, but I do know that Christian parents must not follow the lead of the secular society and that of the Boy Scouts of America, who have voluntarily sacrificed their moral credibility.

In the book of Romans, Chapter One, the Bible makes some very strong assertions regarding  those who practice homosexuality:

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

“Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”- Romans 1:28-32

Christian parents must sustain their covenant with  both God and country by refusing to submit to ideas and agendas which reject God and morally corrupt our children.

It is my sincere hope, therefore,  that every Christian parent in America shall immediately pull their sons out of the Boy Scouts of America, as a demonstration of love towards God and country.

Well written…. Your insights are greatly appreciated…

It breaks my heart to watch the secular factions destroy everything godly. The infringement upon the rights of the majority to appease the few will be the demise of this country. What a dichotomy … “we have our rights to do whatever we want and YOU will respect us BUT you Christians have NO Rights to expression, belief, or respect.” The biggest tragedy will be named: “Demise of a grat nation as the people slept.” God will not tolerate a continuous disregard of His laws.

May have God have mercy upon us all.

Well said, Stacy, I wonder how many parents of Boy Scouts read the Bible any more? As with all activists whether it’s gay rights, those who value snails over people, athiests, or whatever it is that makes them anti-common sense and anti-God….if you give them an inch they will take a mile. I have always loved the Boys Scouts and the great young men I have known that went through scouting have grown up to be wonderful citizens, parents and given much to society in many ways. I have worked with them as an employer and proudly gone to many Eagle Scout ceremonies. But I cannot stand with those delegates that have made this decision for young boys to have to be subjected to this. I do not hate gay people, I pray for them because I know they must get right with God and stop forcing this behavior to be accepted as good for anyone. Some will not want to ever speak with me again as I say this, and I pray for them too, because if they want tolerance, they should be listening to those who differ from them because they care about what happens to them in Eternity. For some, tolerance means you must listen to them and if you disagree after listening then you are labeled a hater or a phobic. I neither hate, nor am I afraid. I live with Jesus in my heart directing me with his eternal Word and his Word does not allow for this. But I am not surprised because the prophesy in the Bible said things like this would happen. I pray the parents who pull their boys out of Boy Scouts will find another good organization to bring them a similar type of experience in raising them that can be as good as scouting has been. The kids belong to the parents, not the government, not the activists and they are all children of God who is not happy with this.

Sherri: you’re spot on. Amen, Amen the warnings have been written throughout the Bible and one of the greatest gifts given to us requires believing in the Word of God and He gave us the greatest gift through His Son, Jesus Christ without spot or wrinkle, our salvation… We were taught agape love, and to stand tall in Him and to speak out in truth which is also out of love.. We have hope for we know He will come again. Prayers are one if the most powerful weapons we have next to faith in God, the Father and His infinite wisdom, His Love, and His Promise of eternal life through His Son, Jesus!
